Mkwasa still in need of Haroub

TAIFA Stars head coach Charles Mkwasa says he still needs centre back Nadir Haroub’s services despite wide speculation that the player has turned his back to the team.

Haroub who features for |Yanga and was a skipper for Taifa Stars as well, is reported to have resigned from the national team since January this year.

Eyebrows were raised when Mkwasa omitted the player from the squad which gears up for the next African nations Cup qualifier tie against Chad to be played in Ndjamena on March 23.

Haroub has been excluded in the squad as Mkwasa says the reason behind is his poor fitness.
“His services are still in need and |I only dropped him because of his lack of fitness”, said Mkwasa who unveiled a squad of 25 players on Tuesday in Dar es Salaam.

Row erupted in January this year when Mkwasa named African footballer of the year for African-based players Mbwana Samata as a new skipper of Tanzania national soccer team. It is alleged that Haroub was not notified of the changes in advance.
