Kichuya displayed outstanding performance when he inspired his team to three back-to-back wins and scored two of the team’s five goals.
The player was able to convince national team coach Charles Mkwasa to pick up him during preparations in the African Nations Cup qualifiers against Chad in Ndjamena last month.
Kichuya beat Mbaraka Yusuf of Kagera Sugar and JKT Ruvu Stars’ Abdulrahman Mussa on his way to win the league’s monthly prize. He is entitled to take home one million shillings courtesy of the premiership sponsors, Vodacom Tanzania.
Other winners of the award since the beginning of the year include Azam defender Shomari Kapombe and Tanzania Prisons’ Mohamed Mkopi who won in January and February, respectively.
