Nape to grace Cheka fight

The Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Nape Nnauye, is expected to be the guest of honour in a World Boxing
Federation (WBF) title fight in Dar es Salaam next Saturday.


The 12-round super middleweight fight will pit Tanzanian pugilist Francis Cheka and Serbian fighter Gerad Ajetovic at the Leaders Club.

Cheka’s manager Juma Ndambile said yesterday that the minister had confirmed being the guest of honour.
Cheka’s opponent would arrive in the country on Wednesday and WBF officials led by its president Goldberg Haward arrive on Thursday.

This will be the second time for the two boxers to meet, having met in 2008 where Cheka lost on points in the bout staged in England.African Stars Band will entertain the audience.
