Reliable sources within the club said yesterday that the Zambian player was expected to complete registration formalities with the city club.
Chirwa was twin striker to Yanga’s Donald Ngoma when they played for FC Platinum of Harare, the Zimbabwean capital, before the striker was picked upon by Jangwani Street scouts for a transfer.
The source said that Ngoma has been urging the technical bench to recruit Chirwa who also turns for the Zambia national youth side, Under-23.
The sources said that the club will pay up about US$ 100, 000 to sign Chirwa who continued to play for FC Platinum in the past season.
Ngoma and Thabani Kamsuoko, the Zimbabwean duo both came from the same club featuring in the Castle Lager Premiership.
Chirwa, formerly of Kokonkola Blades in the Zambian Super League, showed tantalising form for Platinum, scoring fives times in eight league outings, the sources noted.
