This will be a co-organized event by La Liga and gaming firm SportPesa Tanzania.
Sevilla FC will be the first ever club from the Spanish top league to visit Tanzania courtesy of SportPesa Tanzania and La Liga.
The Spanish side will play with one of SportPesa’s local partners, Simba SC or Yanga, at the National Stadium.
Addressing the press in Dodoma yesterday, the SportPesa Tanzania’s Director of Administration and Compliance, Tarimba Abbas, said the visit is part of the company’s commitment to football development in the country.
“SportPesa Tanzania is leveraging on its continuing partnership with La Liga, regarded as the best football league in the world, to showcase local talent and grow the level of football in the region,” Abbas said.
Last time the world saw English soccer giants Everton FC visit Tanzania for the first time in history and the experience was breathtaking.
“Since we are partnering with some of most decorated football institutions in the world, we saw the need to bring another experience of such magnitude to Tanzania this time leveraging on our esteemed partnership with La Liga to bring one of the most iconic football clubs in Europe, Sevilla FC, to continue what we already started,” Abbas revealed.
“It is with this in mind that SportPesa Tanzania saw an opportunity to host Sevilla FC after reaching an agreement with our SportPesa Global office to bring a La Liga team here.”
“Our aim is for the football world to appreciate Tanzania as one of the best pre-season destinations besides the countless number of talents that we want to showcase to the international scouting teams,” Abbas asserted.
Sevilla FC will become the second European soccer team to visit Tanzania as part of SportPesa Global plan of spreading football excitement to the company’s African markets by leveraging on its international partners.
Everton FC was the first English Premier League and European club to visit Tanzania in July 2017, a visit where renowned striker Wayne Rooney scored his first goal for his childhood club, soon after completing his move from Manchester United.
