Simba down Coastal Union

Simba extended their lead when they defeated Coastal Union 2-0 in a Mainland Premier League match played at the Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga yesterday.

The Msimbazi Street side now lead with 57 points from 24 games, followed by defending champions Yanga who have 50 points.

Third-placed Azam FC also have 50 points but Yanga are better placed on goal difference. The two have so far played 21 games each.

Coastal Union who beat Yanga 2-0 and Azam FC 1-0 remain in the bottom of the 16-team league with 19 points.

Striker Daniel Lyanga scored the first goal for Simba in the 39th minute before Hamisi Kiiza added the second in the 52th minute.
