Simba SC has garnered Clatus Chama's replacement, says coach

SIMBA SC's assistant coach, Rwandan Thierry Hitimana, has said that the outfit has already got a replacement for Zambian midfielder, Clatous Chama, and it has high hopes that he will do well.

Hitimana made the remarks while talking about his outfit's preparations for the second preliminary round for this season's CAF Champions League, with Simba confronting Jwaneng Galaxy in Gaborone tomorrow.

Hitimana said: ''In matches that we have played we have seen how we were creating chances and failing to use them, but someone who used to create chances in our squad, has been replaced.''

According to him, there is a performer at the squad, who has been given that role and there are high hopes the footballer will excel in the role.

Hitimana stopped short of mentioning the player tasked with performing the role but reports suggest that midfielders, Larry Bwalya, Pape Ousmane Sakho, and winger Bernard Morrison, make the list of the footballers with the responsibility.

It should be noted that Chama was the Mainland Premier League's player with the most assists in the 2020/21 season, which saw him create 15 assists, whereas the 2019/20 season ended with the midfielder creating eight assists.

Last season Bwalya had five assists and Morrison had four assists despite not making the first choice team regularly.

Newly recruited Sakho was the best player in the Senegal Premier League in the previous season.

Hitimana commented on the environment in Botswana, as his outfit is set to lock horns with Jwaneng Galaxy.

"We are well prepared both technically and tactically, we also know we are going to play in the hot weather, we have started working on it and getting used to the situation before leaving for Botswana.''

Simba SC traveled to Gaborone yesterday to play the first leg.
