The Vital’O striker who was publicly announced to have crossed over to Simba for the new premiership season, is also believed to have signed a one-year deal with the Bujumbura-based club as well.
Unnamed Simba officials have boarded a flight to Bujumbura to find out whether the player has signed another contract or not. The Simba delegation is in Bujumbura to finalise the transfer of the player in the event the controversy of signing another contract will be resolved.
Mavugo has signed a two-year deal with Simba and what remains now is acquisition of International Transfer Certificate from Vital’O, according to of Simba officials.
"We have sent a delegation to Bujumbura to resolve the seemingly crisis and secure his ITC,", said a Simba official.
However, Simba’s chairman for players’ registration Zachariah Hanspoppe said Mavugo is a Simba player and what the delegation will be doing in Bujumbura is finalising with his previous club, FC Solidality, besides seeking his ITC.
Mavugo has been training with Simba and played several pre-season friendlies with remarkable impression.
In related development, Simba president Evans Aveva said former Azam FC defender Malika Ndeule has signed a two year deal.
