SportPesa hands over cash prize to Simba SC

SPORTS Betting firm, SportPesa Tanzania, presented a cash prize totaling 100m/- to Simba SC following the side's triumph in the 2020/21 Mainland Premier League.

Simba SC has received the cash prize for the fourth consecutive year since the side signed a contract with SportPesa Tanzania in 2017, having the latter as the side's main sponsors.

SportPesa Tanzania's Director of Administration and Compliance, Tarimba Abbas, noted:“On behalf of SportPesa Tanzania, I would like to congratulate the team for clinching the Mainland Premier League trophy, and lifting Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) silverware.''

Tarimba stated: “This gives up pleasure witnessing the outcome of our firm's sponsorship from the time we had officially sealed contract.''

“Simba SC has for four successive years lifted Mainland Premier League's top honour and they have for that matter received a 100m/- bonus for four seasons since we sealed contract.''

“We want to motivate them to keep on doing the same, considering when one mentions Simba SC, he or she must also mention SportPesa, I hope we all know that.''

''Next season we expect much bigger achievement and witness Simba emerge victoriously and keep on promote SportPesa even out of this country.''

“We are now communicating with Simba seeking to extend the contract after the present one comes to expiry this year.''

Barbara Gonzalez, Simba SC Chief Executive Officer, congratulated SportPesa for fulfilling the contract for four years.

“SportPesa has to be praised given the firm has fulfilled the contract, which has provisions that include presenting bonus.''

“SportPesa started handing over 50m/- bonus to us after our side qualified for the CAF Champions League's last eight and this is the second time they are handing over 100m/- bonus following our success in Mainland Premier League.''

Simba SC's player, Gadiel Michael, on behalf of his teammates, stated: ''We thank SportPesa for their sponsorship which has been motivating us, therefore we promise to keep on working hard to promote  SportPesa internationally.''
