The coach who spoke a telephone interview said his team had a very successful camp in Shinyanga where the players trained well ahead of the two encounters. He is optimistic over an impressive performance in Mbeya.

The Acacia Gold-sponsored side is currently seventh in the standings table with 30 points from 19 appearances.

Prisons have collected 32 points from 20 games and from the same number of games Mbeya City has chalked 21 points.

“My players are well prepared for the two very difficult games but we are ready and well prepared”, said the coach who is well known for maintaining discipline.

The coach also disclosed that he has included in the squad Haruna Chanongo and Abu Ubwa who were not being used due to alleged misconduct, saying he believes the inclusion of the experienced duo will boost his team’s morale.

“The two are very experienced players, I think they will help the team to play well here and hopefully go back home with the much needed six points”, he said.

On his remarks, spokesperson of Stand United Deo Kaji Makomba said his team which has a squad of experienced and upcoming players is well prepared for the two matches.

He said the team’s management and their sponsors Acacia are allout to make sure that the team returns to their base in Shanyanga with all the maximum six points.

“Of course the league is on but the two away games against Prisons and Mbeya City are very difficult but as a team we are well prepared to face them and come back with all the allotted points. The good thing is that there is unity in the camp; players, technical staff, team management and our sponsors Acacia Gold are all united”, he said.

Officials from Mbeya City and Prison United could not be reached yesterday when we wanted to have their comments on how their teams are preparing for the games.
