Tanzanian referee in CHAN nals exams

Tanzanian Frank Komba is among 44 referees ap- pointed by the Confederation of african Football (CAF) to undergo training to officiate at the african Cup of nations finals meant for domestic players, popular as CHAN.

Qualifying referees will officiate in the CHan finals to be held from next January 13 to February 4 in Mo- rocco.

Komba who is an assistant referee was also among referees who handled the african Under-17 Championships earlier in May in Gabon.

The 44 referees from 35 CaF member countries are undergoing training in Cairo since november 27.

The CHan finals are to be held in the Moroccan cities of Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier and agadir.

They are taught how to goal line technology popu- lar as VaR which will be used for the first time in CAF tourneys at the CHan finals.

CaF referees manager Eddy Maillet said that quali- fying referees will be named five days after the seminar.

in the CHan finals groups, Group a features hosts Morocco, Guinea, Sudan and Mauritania while Group B has ivory Coast, zambia, Uganda and namibia.

Group C has Libya, nigeria, Rwanda and Equatorial Guinea while Group D is formed by angola, Camer- oon, Congo DR and Burkina Faso.
