Tanzanian striker moves to Zambia's Nkana FC

AFTER completing registration to join Zambia's Nkana FC on a one-year contract, Tanzanian forward Eliud Ambokile has stated that he has high hopes of doing well in Zambia.

Since joining Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) football big guns, TP Mazembe, in June, 2019, Ambokile has had a difficult time finding a place in the first team.

In this season alone, the muscular attacker has not played a single game for TP Mazembe in the DRC Premier League.

Commenting on his plans after completing the registration, Ambokile said: “I truly thank God for completing my registration to join Nkana FC from TP Mazembe.''

He enthused: "Nkana have signed me as a free agent and I have already signed a one-year contract.''

The forward, who had in the past played for Tanzania's Mbeya City FC, has joined Nkana, based in Kitwe, after a difficult time within the TP Mazembe.

Ambokile had joined TP Mazembe in June 2019 after having featured for South Africa's Black Leopards in 2018/19 season.

He had joined the Premier Soccer League team from Tanzania's Mbeya City FC, thanks to his scintillating displays for the side in the Mainland Tanzania Premier League.

Since then Ambokile had a limited amount of time to play at TP Mazembe and, for some time now, he has been training with Nkana FC before signing the contract yesterday.

In Nkana FC's Zambia Super League's fixture against Green Buffaloes which took place at Nkana Stadium the two clubs were locked to a 2-2 draw.

Nkana FC is positioned 16th in the Zambia Super League, having taken part in 18 matches, whereas other outfits have taken part in 20 to 21 matches.

Zesco United are the Super League leaders with 40 points.
