MATHAYO Sima emerged winner of the inaugural five-kilometre Kids Run championship held at the Mnazi Mmoja grounds in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.

The winner beat Antidius Martin and Joshua Paulo to the runners-up and third place respectively.The top-placed three winners took home cash prizes amounting to 200,000/-, 150,000/- and100,000/- each, respectively, from the sponsors who happened to be Azania Bank.

They were also awarded medals and a bag sfull of school materials.All those runners who finished among the top ten were given consolation cash prize of 15,000/- each.

Those who were in the top ten line-up are: David Frank (4), Joram Deus (5), Israel Jiro (6), Omary Bawazir (7), Bakari Ali (8), Rahim Seif (9) and Joseph Fabian (10),

Teenager George Richard won the two kilometre race beating Florence Lucas and Kassim Khamis to the runners-up and third-place, respectively.

The three winners took home 100,000/-, 75,000/- , 50,000/-,respectively.Those who finisahed 4 to ten in this group also each received 15,000 and these are are Benjamin Jonathan (4), Edwin Honest (5), Sumeili Letahe (6), Abraham Ali (7), Hamisi Saidi (8), Wilson Daud (9) and Mustapha Hussein (10).
Regina Deogratius, Shadia Ahmad Agness Ernest finished first to third place respectively and took home
75,000/- 50,000/- and 40,000/- in that order on top of medals

Winners for one kilometre race in boys category were Emmanuel Daud, Mecko Hussein and Manyama Ephata respectively. Other top ten finishers were Awadh Abdulaziz, Ezra Damas, Erick Yohana, Sebo Hussein, Mohamed Ismail, Hans Jacob and Deus Pendael.

In girls category those who finished first to ten were Angela Edwin, Mariam Jabir, Mency Adam, Angel Elman, Veronica Adam, Feada Manyama, Merin Frank, Truresha Omary, Maria Lohan and Neema Jonas, respectively .
