Trouble brews for winless Majimaji

THE Mainland premier soccer league now turns to the fifth round of matches with Songea-based Majimaji still searching for first win or point of the season.

Majimaji have conceded four consecutive defeats in all of their four matches they have so far played since the season kicked off on August 20.

The team has managed to score only one goal as its defence continues to leak goals in almost every match the team plays.

The bottom-placed side need to improve if it really aims to save the season. The next match of the fifth round will be at their Majimaji backyard in Songea where visiting Ndanda FC will be action against them.

Ndanda is also not comfortable at this early stages of the season after managing two points, same as African Lyon and JKT Ruvu.

Though it is early to say, as fans and other soccer stakeholders are still giving the team the benefit of doubt, Majimaji might find it hard to match with the shockwaves of the premiership.

Of the three newly-promoted teams, Ruvu Shooting look to be the best side with seven points to stay in title contention early on. Mwanza’s Mbao FC and African Lyon are not that much comfortable as they also struggle to earn points after four rounds of play.

Meanwhile, African Lyon and Mbao FC will play their first leg of the season at the Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam today to conclude their fourth round of the league.
