The Dar es Salaam side which were held to a barren draw by Ndanda FC at Nangwanda Sijaona ground mid last week, started yesterday’s game with a lot of strength, seeking an early score.
Yanga reassured their fans they have what it takes to continue dominating the league, thanks to Burundian Amisi Tambwe who scored a brace, and Deus Kaseke.Kaseke scored first in the 25th minute when he picked up the ball from Simon Msuva’s shot that had hit the bar.
After missing a number of scoring chances in the first half, Yanga coach Yanga Hans van der Pluijm made changes, substituting Obrey Chirwa with Juma Mahadhi and later introduced Kelvin Yondani for Andrew Vicent.
Tambwe scored the second goal in the 79th minute when he headed home a Simon Msuva cross.He then added the third in a matter of minutes, at the 82nd minute, when he used a Juma Mahadhi pass to slot home, putting the game beyond the visiting side.
Yanga now tie with Simba on seven points, with two wins and a draw apiece. Simba are set to play Mtibwa Sugar today.
Elsewhere, Azam FC defeated Mbeya City 2-1 in another league match played the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.
Hamis Mcha scored the first goal for the visiting team in the 10th minute, with Ya Thomas adding another in the 43rd minute. The home side goal was scored by Rafael David.Azam FC leads the 16-team league with 10 points from four games.
