Two goals scored by Juma Abdul and Thabani Kamusoko in a CAF Champions League match yesterday put Young Africans SC in a good position of qualifying for the next stage of the competition.

Young African player, Juma Abdul (r) scored the first goal at the firs half. Lest is the team Chief Coach, Hans Der Pluijm.

Yanga defeated APR 2-1 in the tournament’s first round, first leg match at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali yesterday.
The Jangwani Street side will need any kind of draw in the return leg match to be played in Dar es Salaam in the next two weeks to qualify to face Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the second round.

Defender Abdul scored the first goal for Yanga in the 20th minute when he hit an 18-metre direct free-kick to beat the home side goalie. In the 74th minute, Kamusoko used a Donald Ngoma pass to add the second goal for the Mainland champions.

The lone goal for Rwandese armed forces side was scored by Patrick Sibomana in injury time.

Yanga qualified to date APR after eliminating Cercle de Joachim of Mauritius on a 3-0 aggregate in the preliminary round. Yanga won 1-0 in the away leg with the goal scored by Ngoma before Amissi Tambwe and Kamusoko scored each one goal in the return leg in Dar es Salaam.
