This German colonial period structure (pre 1918) was built in Dar es Salaam along its main street, by Goan Francisco de Almeida, for his firm of Almeida Menezes. A gem of a building, full of character and charm, it enhanced and defined the area for decades, and was loved by locals, right up until its recent demolition. Irreplaceable, it is sadly missed by many today.
