Government invites Saudi businesses to invest in diverse Tanzanian sectors

The government has extended an invitation to Saudi Arabian businesses to invest in a range of sectors within the country, including agriculture, industry, livestock, energy, mining, tourism, pharmaceuticals, and real estate.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr. Ashatu Kijaji, warmly received the traders along with her delegation during a meeting and discussions with Hassan Al-Huwaizi, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saudi Arabia.

This event occurred amid the ongoing World Economic Forum Meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 

Minister Kijaji elaborated on additional investment opportunities in Tanzania beyond the sectors she highlighted, offering a gateway to diverse markets across Africa for potential investors. 

The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saudi Arabia, Hassan Al-Huwaizi, and his delegation have committed to promoting investment among Saudi businessmen and investors in Tanzania. 

Dr. Kijaji led the Tanzanian delegation at the meeting, which included prominent individuals like Rashed Bade, the Commissioner of Foreign Exchange at the Ministry of Finance; Sempeho Manongi, Director of the Department of Business Development; Asangye Bangu, Director General of the Board of Warehouses; Deo Shayo, the Representative of the Director General of TanTrade; as well as officials from the Tanzanian Embassy in Saudi Arabia.

 Moreover, Dr. Kijaji underscored the significance of enabling Tanzanian and Saudi Arabian entrepreneurs to secure capital for local product manufacturing, thereby enhancing trade ties between the two countries.

Minister Kijaji conveyed this message during her discussion with Engineer Saad Alkhalb, the CEO of Saudi Exim Bank, at the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Kijaji took the opportunity to extend an invitation to Saudi Exim to visit Tanzania, aiming to enhance trade relations between the two countries. This visit could potentially facilitate the provision of concessional loans to contractors and businessmen operating in Tanzania.

Engineer Saad Alkhalb, the Executive Director of Saudi Exim Bank, pledged to explore the opportunities between Tanzania and Saudi Arabia. This initiative aims to streamline capital access and enhance business efficiency for mutual benefits, particularly in sectors such as meat, fish, and fruits..
