EXIM Bank, together with the Tanzania Red Cross Society (TRCS) and the National Blood Transfusion Service Tanzania (NTBS), planted trees and conducted a blood donation drive during the commemoration of World Red Cross Day held in Dodoma, where the Guest of Honor was Dr. Dotto Biteko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy.

"Exim Bank has joined here in Dodoma to commemorate and appreciate the good and important work done by the Tanzania Red Cross Society (TRCS) because we recognize the importance of its work in helping our community, and we promise to continue being a reliable partner in bringing positive change," says Stanley Kafu, Head of Marketing and Communication at Exim Bank.

Through its social program called 'EXIM Cares', Exim Bank has several social and developmental projects implemented in Tanzania. Some of these projects are in the sectors of health, education, environment, innovation, and financial matters.

Describing one of these projects, Stanley said, "Through our 'EXIM Go Green' project, we have collaborated with stakeholders to support the government in environmental conservation by planting trees. For example, we have participated in tree planting in Zuzu ward here in Dodoma led by Hon. Mizengo Pinda, former Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania. Our bank has also been involved in tree planting at Dodoma Referral Hospital and Machinga Complex market."

In the health sector, Exim Bank has been cooperating with the Tanzania Red Cross Society and the National Blood Transfusion Service Tanzania to support blood donation drives, recognizing its importance and need for Tanzanians.

"Last year, we collaborated with the National Blood Transfusion Service Tanzania (NTBS) to coordinate blood donation drives in the regions of Mbeya, Mtwara, Mwanza, Dar es Salaam, and here in Dodoma, where we were recognized by the Government as one of the main stakeholders in the blood donation drive in the country," Stanley explains.

This year, Exim Bank continues to collaborate with the Tanzania Red Cross Society in these commemorations with the theme "I give with joy, and the joy I give is a reward," emphasizing the importance of giving for the well-being of those in need and the happiness associated with both giving and receiving.
