Ndalichako out, Makonda in as Arusha's new RC

President Samia Suluhu Hassan ignites change, bidding farewell to Professor Joyce Ndalichako and unveiling Paul Makonda, the driving force behind CCM’s Ideology and Publicity, as the dynamic new Arusha Regional Commissioner!

Makonda, with prior experience serving as Kinondoni District Commissioner, Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, and as CCM’s Ideology and Publicity Secretary, steps into the role, succeeding John Mongella, who will transition to other duties.

In a statement issued today, March 31, 2024, by Zuhura Yunus, Director of Presidential Communications, it was revealed that the Head of State has implemented multiple transfers within her administration.

According to the statement, Deogratius Ndejembi has been transferred to the Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disability docket to assume Prof. Ndalichako’s former position.

Zainab Katimba has been appointed as the new Deputy Minister in the President’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Government Authorities), succeeding Ndejembi, who has been promoted to full minister.

The president has also appointed Daniel Sillo as the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Home Affairs, replacing Jumanne Sajini, who has been transferred to the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs.

Maryprisca Mahundi is the new Deputy Minister in the Ministry for Information, Communication, and Information Technology. Previously, she served as the deputy minister for water. Kundo Mathew will assume the role of Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Water, replacing Maryprisca.

Fakii Lulandala, General Secretary of CCM’s Youth Wing (UV-CCM), has been appointed as the new Simanjiro District Commissioner, succeeding Dr. Suleiman Serera, who has been appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Culture, Arts, and Sports.

Gilbert Kalima, Secretary-General of CCM Parents’ Wing, has been appointed as the new Mkinga District Commissioner, located in the Tanga Region, northeast of the country.

Former Dar es Salaam Rapid Transport (DART) executive Dr. Edwin Mhede has been appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary, replacing Agnes Kisaka, who will now head to the Ministry of Water. Mary Maganga, former Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Vice President’s Office (Union and Environment), has been transferred to the Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disability docket.

Furthermore, President Samia has also appointed Gervas Kakele, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Information, Communication, and Information Technology, as ambassador.

Meanwhile, Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro has been appointed as a member of the Planning Commission.

As per the statement, the newly appointed officials will pledge their oaths of office in Dar es Salaam on April 4, 2024.
