THE opposition ACT-Wazalendo has congratulated Senegalese President-elect Bassirou Diomaye Faye for the decisive win in the General Election held on Sunday.

In a statement issued by Dr Nasra Nassor Omar, ACT-Wazalendo shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation said that the election showed a commendable display of democracy and commitment to fair electoral practices, highlighting the robustness and vitality of Senegal's democratic institutions.

She said that President-elect Faye's triumph mirrors the trust in him by the Senegalese people, particularly the youth who clearly voiced their support for his promised leadership.

“As Senegal embarks on this new phase, we are confident that President-elect Diomaye Faye will guide the nation towards enhanced prosperity, unity, self-determination, and advancement for all its citizens,” she said, adding:

“We applaud the active engagement of the Senegalese people in the electoral process and their dedication to upholding democratic principles.” 

The party said it eagerly anticipates witnessing the positive influence of President-elect Faye's governance to strengthen growth and stability of Senegal.
