EIGHT soccer teams are expected to participate in a new special tournament namely Parimatch Kitaa Cup aimed at nurturing young talents.

The tournament involves a total of eight teams from various areas of Dar es Salaam, according to Levis Paul, the coordinator of the tournament.

Paul named the teams as Faru Dume, Karume FC, Kawe UTD, Makubuli FC, Kauzu FC, Namanga FC, Mpakani FC, and Rangi Tatu FC.

The winner of the two-day tournament will be awarded 1m/-, while the runner-up will receive 500,000/-.

There will also be a prize for the third place, consisting of two footballs.

According to Paul, other tournament awards will include the top scorer, best goalkeeper, and best player of each match.

"All participating teams have been provided with jerseys and footballs for the tournament, and the morale of every player is high," said Paul.

"We are committed to contributing to the development of sports in the country, particularly for local teams where many players can bring success to various clubs and the national team.

"That's why we've organized this short tournament, provided sports equipment, and set up grand prizes to encourage players to compete for their teams to emerge victorious. I urge football fans in Dar es Salaam to come out in large numbers to enjoy the entertainment from our local teams," he said.
